Yngwie Janseghers

Composer and organist Yngwie Janseghers (2004) is currently studying composition at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Bram Van Camp and Steven Prengels. He previously studied with Wim Henderickx and, as an Erasmus student, took lessons at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Henrik Hellstenius. Yngwie completed his training as a harpsichordist, organist and harmonium player with Bart Rodyns.

At an early age, Yngwie started composing. He took his first lessons with Alain Craens, who accompanied him until he started at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. During this preliminary training with Alain Craens, Yngwie already worked with the Hermes Ensemble and Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. From the age of 15, Yngwie took part for four consecutive years in SoundMine, a composition course with Wim Henderickx, Diederik Glorieux, Jorrit Tamminga and Gilles Doneux. In addition, the young composer took master classes and internships with renowned musicians such as Lisa Streich, Chaya Czernowin, Marco Stroppa and many others.

In 2022, Yngwie won the second prize in the Princess Christina Competition with his composition for string quartet Quando Il Mondo Diventó Bianco. In 2023, Ensemble Modern selected the composer for their Young-Talents-Programme. Yngwie's creations have already been performed by Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Hermes Ensemble and the Flemish Radio Choir, among others. At the 2023 Transit festival in Leuven, the Hermes Ensemble will interpret Yngwie's work Si Seulement.
