In one evening program, you will hear how the same idea—the mountain—can sound very different: César Franck in a compact, romantic symphonic poem, and Richard Strauss in a grand orchestration. We will also present new work by the young Belgian composer Grim Ongena: The Ecstasy of Flight.

The Mahler Student Festival Orchestra (MSFO) is a unique blend of professional ambition and human dedication. Young musicians, the conductor, and the organizing team invest time and resources in performing top-notch symphonic music. You'll hear that sense of community, both on and off the stage.
Since 2022, the MSFO has performed several impressive symphonic works, including Mahler's Symphony No. 2 and No. 9.
